Cynthia Fisher A.R.A.D. - Instructor and Choreographer

Senior Examiner (Solo Seal) of The Royal Academy of Dance

 

Cynthia grew up in Toronto and was trained by Gladys Forrester.

 

Her performing experience includes classical and contemporary works with Ontario Ballet Theatre and Breakaway Dance Theatre as well as film and television credits.

 

Cynthia was the owner and Director of The Conservatory of Dance and Music for 22 years. She was appointed to the Board of Examiners of the Royal Academy of Dance in 1996 and became a Dual Examiner in 2004.

 

For 20 years she was a Teaching Master of dance and choreography at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto

In 2012 she was appointed interim Head of The Teacher Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School, and continues to teach in the program.

 

A much sought-after guest teacher and choreographer, she has taught in Ecuador, Japan, the United States, Brazil, Scotland, New Zealand, and throughout Canada. She has adjudicated ballet, character and contemporary dance at festivals in Alberta and British Columbia. She has also examined on six continents throughout the world. She has prepared students for the RAD Phyllis Bedells Bursary competition and the Genee International Ballet Competition. Her choreography has received many awards and she has created large scale productions performed at Toronto's Skydome.
