Jocelyn Marsh - Instructor

Associate B.A.T.D Ballet, Jazz

I started dancing when I was 7 years old at the Madoc School of Dance Arts under the direction of Ms. Aida Sutton-Jones. I started taking Ballet and quickly added Jazz and Tap to my schedule. I tested with the BATD every year receiving high grades with each exam. I danced competitively from age 10 and started student teaching when I was 13. At age 14 I received an invitation to "Scholarships" for Jazz. When I was 15 I received Honours in my BATD Ballet Associate exam before Ms. Sutton-Jones moved back to England. I taught for one year in Madoc after that and for two years in Marmora and Campbellford for Shannon's Dance Workshop. While teaching in Marmora I also danced competitively, trying out Hip-Hop for the first time. I enjoyed the change in dancing styles.

The following year I went to college and put dancing aside. I returned to teaching after I was married and had my son and daughter. I have been teaching Ballet, Tap and Jazz at the Campbellford location of Ireland Academy for 9 years and am proud to say I am a member of the wonderful teaching staff and hope to continue for years to come.
