Fellowship B.A.T.D. Stage, Associate B.A.T.D. Modern, A.D.A.P.T. Tap and Jazz Certified

Dance is a wonderful expression of oneself that requires detailed technical training, mentoring and advancement of skills. I feel the Ireland Academy of dance offers special dance training, keeping in mind, safety, and consideration of young minds and bodies. I am very proud to offer the Belleville and surrounding area outstanding quality of instruction and Frequent Steps Boutique for all your dancewear needs. I am so proud of our new state of the art location and excited about the new ideas, classes and productions we will be offering to our students and parents.

I have been passionate about dance since I was a little girl and began my dance career at the London School of Dance in Scarborough, Ontario. I enjoyed many branches of dance including tap, jazz and ballet and spent 10 years training in these branches. In high school I branched off into Ballroom dancing and began competing when I was in Gr 10. I had the honour of achieving the Amateur Ballroom Championships in Toronto and furthered my skills by spending six weeks training in Germany. In 1982 I moved to Belleville, where I completed my goals of being a certified dance instructor and studio owner. I have performed and choreographed in many musicals with The Dance Den and The Belleville Theatre Guild. I have enjoyed choreography and volunteering my time to many high school productions over the years!

I began more serious dance training with Mrs. Carol Brown in Trenton and graduated with my teaching certificate in STAGE & MODERN with the BATD. (British Association of Teacher's of Dancing) I have continued to be examined over time and have attained my Fellowship certification in stage. I was an instructor at Albert College for 8 years, teaching dance in their arts program curriculum. I will continue to teach, take more workshops and examinations to grow with the ever changing dance world. I will also continue to be a hands on director with my focus on my students, parents and customers to enhance the experience of dance in the Quinte and surrounding areas
